If you love music as much as we do, we want you to use our music in your podcasts!

Magnatune is one of the only record labels on the planet whose music you can legally use in your non-commercial podcast without a collection society. See this podcasting news article or ASCAP's web license page to see what you would need to pay to use other's music.

We specifically grant non-commercial podcasters a waiver to use our music without paying any fee to a royalty collection agency, such as ASCAP, BMI or SoundExchange. Because we work directly with artists, we can legally do this.

If your podcast is commercial you can obtain a low-cost commercial podcast license in order to use Magnatune music.

If your podcast is non-commecial, you can download 128k versions of our songs for free. Click the "license" button next to any button and click the "Non-commercial" option. There will be a voice at the end of the song announcing what it was, which you can trim off with any MP3 trimming software.

If you'd like a perfect quality version of our albums for your podcast, we ask that you purchase a copy of the album (you can pay as little as $5), which you can then play on your podcast 100% legally without paying collecting society royalties.

Commercial Podcast Licenses

Browse through our online catalog of music and when you've found your selection, simply click the "license" link, then click the "audio" link to answer a few questions about your project. Pay the licensing fee in our secure credit card payment area, and you'll immediately receive a CD-quality download of the music and a customized license to use it in your podcast.
